Sidney McCree (Dj El Sid) is a Boston-based DJ, emcee, and owner of Fusion Function Entertainment, known for his technical skill, musical versatility, and ability to energize diverse crowds. With 13 years of full-time experience and a background in radio and music production, Sid blends engineering precision with a natural talent for reading the room.

He has grown Fusion Function from a solo venture into a multi-op team of 16 DJs offering full-scale entertainment and AV services. Proud of his Hispanic and Black heritage and rooted in Waltham with his family, Sid continues to be a trusted name in New England's wedding and private event industry.

  • "Best DJ/Videographer/Photo Booth!!"

    We could not have picked a better team to help make our dream wedding happen!! Dj El Sid was amazing, and took the time to get to know us prior to our wedding. He kept the energy up all night, made sure to play our must-haves, and even added a few surprises for our personalities. We haven’t gotten our wedding video back yet (it was only last week), but I can only imagine Soto captured everything perfectly. The Photo Booth was a perfect addition, and being right next to the dance floor was perfect to get everyone back out there. I couldn’t recommend Fusion Function enough, and would choose them again if I could!!!

  • "An Absolute Banger!"

    We hired DJ El Sid for our August 9th, 2025 wedding, and our reception was an absolute banger. Sid is super talented and is great at reading the crowd likely because he still actively DJs at clubs which is exactly what we were looking for. He had everyone on their feet dancing from our younger crowd of friends and cousins to our older family and friends. You know it’s a good party when you have a dachshund do the limbo and the men’s ties transfer to their head haha. We got SO many compliments on the DJ from our guests! Additionally, Sid did a fantastic job with the ceremony and grand entrances and dances, and MCing. We had 2-3 planning meetings with him via Zoom before the wedding, which were super helpful to get to know each other, ask questions, and share our music tastes and wishes. Fusion function also had an app where we could upload our songs for the ceremony, cocktail hour, entrances, first dances, and reception to keep everything organized and give Sid a vibe for our music style. Our wedding was an epic party to remember thanks to DJ El Sid!

  • 1 Year Later, Sid's Still the Best

    We knew we made the right choice choosing Sid to DJ our wedding when we heard the roar of our guests as he announced the entrances of our parents and wedding party into the reception ballroom. He brought energy and enthusiasm to the celebration that electrified our friends and family as we made our entrance as husband and wife. After dinner, his party playlist ignited the celebration even more, and our guests gravitated to the dance floor. As the sun set, the dance floor was lit up with dozens of glow sticks (we highly recommend). At one point, we turn our heads toward the middle of the crowd, and the bride's mom is dancing with our priest! Everybody had an absolute blast and we can’t thank him enough for helping put on such an incredible wedding reception! Now, 1 year later, we've had the chance to rewatch our wedding video in full. And after reliving every memory from the reception, (even the moments we missed while we were thanking family, friends, and guests), we still believe he played an immense role in making the night unforgettable for everyone!

I'm not someone who learned to DJ just for weddings. I'm currently a mixer on JAM'N 94.5, Boston's #1 for Hip Hop, and I stay active in the city's club scene. That means I'm constantly reading live crowds and testing what actually gets people moving in real time, not just relying on a playlist that worked five years ago. When I'm behind the booth at your wedding, you're getting that same nightlife-level energy and mixing skill, just tailored to your day instead of a Saturday night at a club.
